The Yoke Break

The Beginning

A yoke is anything that ties you down, that you can’t move forward. It is something holding things together-It means to tie in with. A yoke is a burden, a repression, an oppression, an encumbrance, an imposition, a pair, a coupling, to link, to join, a tied together, a fastening; also a servitude. It is to be in bondage-a binding.

Isaiah 10:24-27

The Lord of Hosts… Jehovah Tsabaot- the Self-Existent Eternal God is the lord of war, the lord of the armies, the lord mighty in battle. In this instance, the lord presents Himself as the God of vengeance.

The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies. (Isaiah 42:13)

Verse 24 speaks about the manner of Egypt. Egypt was a place of bondage, a limitation-a hemming in, a confinement, oppression, a place of tears, distress, a place of toiling, abuse, misuse, low self-esteem;

Egypt was a stronghold, a place of strife; a place of exploitation, maltreatment, depravity, debasement and many other negatives.

Yet a little while, this oppression shall cease, the injustice, offense, insult to the name of God shall cease and the Lord of hosts shall arise with vengeance to fight for His people against the oppressor. As His rod was upon the red sea so shall He lift it up after the same manner as He delivered them from Egypt.

Verse 26; the lord of hosts shall arise- the lord of war. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered, it’s time for His revenge to be manifested to His enemies and deliver His people from the hand of the oppressor.

As the horse and its rider have been cast into the Red Sea without mercy, so is the Lord’s enemies; they will be totally annihilated from the face of the earth and the Lord’s victory shall be seen by all. The burden of the oppressor shall be taken away and his yoke removed because of the anointing.

What is the anointing?

The anointing is the unction to function; it is the manifest power of God to do that which God has called to do. We cannot function effectively and efficiently in the call of God without the anointing. The

anointing is the expressed presence of God that makes ministration easy and without struggle. It is the power of God made evident.

In essence, the anointing is simply the yoke removing, burden lifting power of God according to verse 27. It is indeed by the anointing, that captives are set free.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;(Isaiah 61:1)

Zechariah 4:6 “not by might, not by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts”.

The anointing and the Holy Spirit of God are synonymous-one and the same. The Holy Spirit is the power arm of the God head-the trinity. When we talk about the anointing we cannot help but talk about the Holy Spirit. The anointing is the persona of the Spirit of God.

1st John 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

Verse 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

In this scripture “the anointing that abides in us” is in reference to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives, since we’re the temple of the Holy Ghost.(1st Corinthians 6:19) Therefore, we can unequivocally state that the anointing is the Holy Spirit manifesting His presence and power, in the works of yoke removing and burden lifting.

Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, (Hebrews 12:1)

This book recognizes and ascertains the diverse kinds of yoke that can entangle the believer and offers Godly keys or resolutions in breaking them.

Someone may ask, can a true blood washed believer be yoked or bound that there’s need for deliverance or liberation?

In answer to the question posed, we need to understand that salvation is an all-encompassing package for the whole man. Once we become regenerated our spirit man is changed immediately; Justification occurs at that moment of salvation but our soul which is our mind will and emotions need to die daily, to come under Christ captivity.

Apostle Paul states that “every man who takes part in the sports has self-control in all things. Now they do it to get a crown which is of this world, but we for an eternal crown.

So then I am running, not uncertainly; so I am fighting, not as one who gives blows in the air:

But I give blows to my body, and keep it under control, for fear that, after having given the good news to others, I myself might not have God’s approval.” (1 Corinthians 9:25-27 BBE)

What Apostle Paul is intimating to, is that, to run this race is a daily beating, daily exercising of the muscles so as to run effectively to attain the crown. This is sanctification which is a process. Our soul man needs to go through renewal for deliverance and sanctification by the word of God, as we are perfected in Him daily.

Ephesians 5:26 …that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word-(the rhema word of God).

And Jesus cried out to the father, to sanctify; make them holy through thy word, for the word is truth (John 17:17)

Sanctification is a daily walk as we are perfected in Him. Sanctification means “to be set apart for God,” or to be made more holy through conforming to the image of His Son. This is a work of grace.

Our soul needs to die daily. A believer who is not armoured properly or not keen in subjecting his/her members under the lordship of Jesus can easily be influenced by, predisposed or inclined to what is around- the all enforcing atmosphere around or, alternatively, his/her old man that was once dead can resurrect.

Hence, the need for continual introspection using the magnifying glass of the word of God and the constant leading of the Holy Spirit is of an imperative uttermost importance; therefore breaking of yokes becomes a necessary detox of the soul.

We are encouraged to “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:12)
